Terms of Service
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Korea Scam Check ("the Service") is a free tool operated by an individual, Youngji Kim. By using the Service — via the website, the API, or a connected AI assistant (MCP) — you agree to these terms.
Guidance, not a guarantee
The Service provides a risk assessment, not a guarantee. It returns one of three verdicts — danger, caution, or no_known_threat — and never declares anything "safe". A "no known threat" result does not mean a message or contact is safe; the Korean police database, for example, only flags numbers reported multiple times recently. Always use your own judgment and, when in doubt, report to 112 (police) or 1332 (Financial Supervisory Service).
Not professional advice
The Service does not provide legal, financial, or investigative advice. It is an automated second opinion.
Acceptable use
Do not abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the rate limits of the Service, and do not use it to harass, profile, or harm any individual. Automated bulk use beyond the published rate limits is not permitted.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service.
Changes
These terms may be updated. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
